John-Henry (JH) Mallam
CLUB OWNER
John-Henry's love of Jiu-Jitsu began with a desire for self-defence and a yearning to step away from the monotonous routine of a regular gym. He was seeking something that would not only keep him fit and flexible but also challenge him both mentally and physically.
After being humbled by someone about half his size on his first day, John-Henry has been training diligently six days a week. This experience ignited his drive to continuously improve, develop his skills and share his knowledge with others.
John-Henry has discovered a particular fondness for coaching beginners, understanding the excitement and challenges they face as they embark on their Jiu-Jitsu journey. His goal is to guide them efficiently, helping them progress and become proficient in the art in the shortest time possible. With his patient and encouraging approach, he creates a supportive environment where beginners feel comfortable asking questions and pushing their limits.
Uniquely, John-Henry has developed a strong passion for fusing traditional wrestling with Jiu-Jitsu. Recognising the importance of grappling and takedowns, he emphasises the integration of wrestling techniques into his coaching. This not only enhances the overall skill set of his students but also provides them with a well-rounded understanding of the fundamentals of grappling.
Whether you are a beginner or an experienced practitioner, you can trust that John-Henry will provide the guidance and expertise needed to excel in your Jiu-Jitsu journey.
